PRINCIPLES OF GEOGRAPHY

There are 4 main principles in analyzing the symptoms of the geosphere.

1. The principle of distribution, meaning that the distribution of landforms on Earth's surface is uneven so that each region will be different from the other regions. For example, the distribution of the number of transmigration in Indonesia is uneven, there are a large number of areas compared to the other according to the geographic size.

2. Interrelation principle, meaning that the geosphere phenomenon that one has a relationship with another geosphere phenomenon, which is a symptom associated with other symptoms. For example, most of the villagers are farmers because it is still the availability of land for cultivation.

3. Principles of description, means to describe the phenomenon of geosphere require descriptions, through text, tables, images or graphics. For example, map the distribution of tectonic plates in the world.

4. Korologi principle, meaning that by analyzing a region based on the three principles previously the region will have certain characteristics. This principle is a symbol of modern geography. For example, the air temperature is higher in urban areas than in rural areas. It is caused either because the amount of sunlight reflected by buildings in urban areas.
